How to Ping ping.sg Automatically using WordPress

with 6 comments

Even though the best way to do that is via pingback service, which has yet to be implemented with the current version of ping.sg, it is still possible to set up blogging softwares to auto send trackback whenever a new entry is published.

For WordPress, simply install this plugin, Auto Trackback By Category and set it up to send trackback for every entry that you blog to the unique URL obtained at your profile.

(If you know of any other plugins for auto trackback for other blogging softwares, please let us know.)

  1. Won’t that overload ping.sg’s server?

  2. No it won’t. ping.sg aims to collect all the blog posts by Singapore bloggers and about Singapore so all bloggers would make full use of the service and ping.sg can then be the portal collecting all the blog posts in Singapore.

  3. Can’t I just use the Update Services in my Writing Options? Won’t that already do a ping for me?

  4. Sorry, I should have read the FAQ first. Any ETA on when a proper pingback service will be implemented?

  5. No promise, but it’ll be next on my to-do list, so I guess it wouldn’t take too long.

    Thanks for asking.
